we are proud of you, alexis
because...
1. you no longer cry when mommy drops you in school, instead you give me a kiss and say "bye bye mommy"
2. you no longer has your diaper on except night time sleep
3. you are very inquisitive and ask all sorts of "what's this?" and "what are you doing?"
4. you can speak in short full english sentences
5. you greet us "早安", "晚安", "再见". we know you are trying hard to speak in mandarin and to master your mother tongue
6. you can sing english and mandarin children nursery rhymes
7. you know what is your name, in english and mandarin
8. you know your days, numbers, alphabets, shapes, colours, animals and many other more
9. you still eat your steamed food at home that consist of vegetables, fish, wholegrain, fruits and seeds.
10. you say "i love you" in your sweet little voice, accompanied with a hug and a kiss because you know this will make us melt into a puddle :)
now, i hope you can't wait to see where your life adventure takes you next.

being a mommy to alexis is such a privilege, and even though sometimes i love to frown and groan upon her madness and naughtiness, really and truly, i feel thoroughly blessed to have her into my life. her sweeter than sugar smiles and sweetie pie "i love you, mommy" murmurings more than make up for the hair-pulling and head-bashing she makes me want to do to myself.
anyway, friends came over today and this lil one was very well-behaved which, to me, is the best gift :) she was chattering away about everything to everyone seeking a whale pool of attention from them. this girl had lots of fun and runs. she always has something to ask and some songs to sing. feedback from them, her behavior, speech and pronunciation exceeded her age group :)
chanced upon this while packing the girl's bag for Monday's school, and so inspired to share here for two reasons - these were spot on accurate and they just express my happiness now in those simple words by her teacher.
