first visit to the dentist

at the age of nineteenth month, the man and i took alexis for her first ever dentist checkup in health promotion board. considering she is now at the age known of NO-NO-NO stage, we were bracing ourselves up for the worst. turns out, the girl handled it not so bad :) raisins were used as a bait for her to open her mouth big and wide. no tooth decay and more teeth are cutting out on the upper jaw.

alexis in school

my little girl, at the age of eighteenth months, has started her preschool :) she has been to school for two weeks. i am so so so glad that she is really enjoying it so far. for the first two days, i am a proud mommy because she seems to be such a big girl when she takes it all in her stride. no meltdowns, no ranting, no raving, no whining and no dramatics scene. parents are allowed to stay with the child for the first three days, but we decided not to so we just drop her and go, that is it! we were updated throughout the days with photos from the principle via whatsapp :) the hysterics came on the third day. the novelty wore off and alexis starts having meltdowns whenever we reaches the entrance of her school. however i still stick to my philosophy - drop and go. other than the few seconds of morning meltdown, alexis is a pretty easy going toddler in school and nothing makes her happier than her gym lesson :)

mindchamps gave us updates on alexis's progress through a connection book. i like it, at least it makes us feel involved and in-the-know of alexis's daily activities!

"dear mr and mrs ang, it has been more than a week now that alexis is in mindchamps. alexis is adapting very well with the school's routines. she is able to follow simple instructions from teachers such as, "sit down" and "keep toys". she is able to sit down at least 5 minutes during lesson time. she shows great interest during singing sessions as she sways her body or claps her hands. she eats at least 2 servings for her lunch and snacks. she could tell if she wants to go toilet." she sleeps at least 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. i saw her biting the toys since yesterday. so i have been trying to stop that. alexis seems to be very insisting when it comes to feeding herself. she gave a firm "NO! NO!" when i asked if i could help her. =)"

the teachers clarified her age with me because they thought her speech and actions exceeded her age group, well, i guess this will be the best feedback for us :)

as i am on my way to work, i find myself laughing uncontrollably with my eyes glued to the girl filled with moving movements. i cannot deny that alexis is my all time favorite child. i love how she is just so funny. she never seems to be unhappy or maybe i cannot remember her being any less happy. i cannot seem to control my laughter whenever she starts grinning at everyone. she probably mixed up human, birds, insects and trains. she bid farewell to everything and everyone while informing them that she is going to school. funny, i was entertained.
