this girl never fails to cheer me up, not just by her smiles, but also her daily routine :) she may not get to taste the most palatable and best presentable food now, but the food that goes into her mouth was made with heartfelt goodness, sincerity and full of ♥.
today i whipped up her third batch of apple-pear oatmeal for her breakfast using a lovely combination of rolled oats and fruits. every morning, the girl devoured her breakfast like it was candy. this always make breakfast a winner!
alexis, in her understated cool and calm way of enjoying her daily super food of avocado and plain yogurt, expresses her joy from the expression on her face as she opens her mouth wide and big for the next spoon :)
the girl poos at least three times a day - you will never go wrong with lunch and dinner consisting of brown rice porridge with three types of vegetables together with wheat germs, tahini, brewer's yeast and flexseed as supplements. i am comforted by her vegetable diet, which by far outweighs whatever damage it does to her bulging tummy.

my walking girl
it's strange. for the longest time i was looking forward to the day alexis took her first step. but as she takes baby steps towards reality, the heavy weight that resonate within my heart seem to trickle in. i remember thinking, this couldn't be it. i think i would have missed this sight if i wasn't paying attention.
i will not lose track of myself as her mommy. i will be true to myself.

my one week leave
this week with the girl, the happiness is like dark chocolate. it is bitterly sweet. she cries, she scream, she shows her displease but she too grins, she smiles, she laughs and i am thankful for everything.
so many amazing experiences, sights, sounds, colours, emotions. i am satisfied and awed. i cannot put this in words. alexis is growing up. how do i describe that rich taste of.. sheer joy when i see her exploring the world, walking on unfamiliar streets and giving a grin wherever i bring her to? motherhood always leaves me like this. there are so many things of her i haven't seen and am looking forward :))
the girl receives many compliments from surprised strangers. she is walking at her tenth month. she amazed the man and i. she knows the concept of getting down from a height. it feels too good to be true, it feels amazing because such things, they don't happen to many babies, do they? i should be contented. and she should always be happy. i am at peace and determined in some ways. i will make this happiness work because there is little to hate and more to love and be thankful for.
but don't forget, never forget. the time will come and i need to know that i will let go, when she is free to walk this world by herself :)
on a side note, the girl she is now as heavy as a sack of rice. at her tenth month coming eleventh, she is weighting at 9.1kilo at 72cm :)

beautiful girl, you light up my world.
i remember feeling like a proud mommy when our small little girl walked across the basketball court this evening. no support with many stumblings and fallings, this is the concept of being strong. there're no words to describe this experience fully enough.. however tough the going was for her, i'm glad i was part of this. it was a long ardous few minutes walk when she can't see what lies ahead and probably she thought it would never end.. but it did and it ended with a smile :)
more than anything, i appreciate the family bond we share and hope that there will always be us.

mind over matter
sometimes i'm too independant, sometimes i'm too dependant on the affirmations of others. it shows i am an extreme girl. i need to learn to stand on my own two feet, but i never know where's the fine line of division. i need to also stop being such a huge spotlight in workplace. i need to believe in myself but first and foremost, i need to do things to make myself believe in myself.
mind over matter, i need to stay on track. more expectations & requirements than two years ago, but if everyone can do it, why can't i be part of the everyone? i don't know what my big plan looks like and i don't really feel up to it to analyse it right now.
