my gem

every time i am on leave, i bring the girl down for her morning walk, and the first place that she always walk to is the playground, with all the colorful slides and rides that tease a smile out of her. and she never fails to come back drenched with perspiration. i love her smell, very queer :)

this walking gem was too small and too cheeky looking to escape people's eyes. what's more...she is walking steadily with a grin, putting out her hands to anyone who greeted her. grannies with grandkids started asking me about her diet, making sure i fed her nothing unusual developing her into an active young learner.

she sure made my day, so do those grannies.

ding dong merrily on high

a happy heart, she walks the world and victory feels sweet :)

in quiet moments i wonder how she did it, i wonder if it was something i ate during pregnancy, something i did. which was the moment that made it for her? and as usual, i'm thinking too much. that said, the girl is turing one in twenty-four days time! cake ordered and present prepared. let us be merry :))

there is nothing like family love

for once, we are in tiong bahru bakery @raffles city, contented and with a full belly of coffee, lemon tart and chocolate almond croissant at 15:00 on a tuesday afternoon. looking forward to spending the rest of the day with just him her and i :)

beautiful girl, you light up my world

on sunday, we took the girl down for her first lantern walk. it's this unspoken confidence she has and how she can so easily walk around the park in her size 3 shoe. she tripped and fell a couple of times, hit her head and with some skin abrasion, but life goes on, it's just another fall. this girl stood up either by herself or with help, continued her walk tearless and receiving many compliments from onlookers :)

there are many things that alexis has helped me take a new look on life itself. to this little baby girl, she wants to walk the world, crossing any obstale in her path. to me, i no longer can see what lies ahead, mountains mountains and too many mountains to climb and go around. right now, the girl teaches me the most valuable lessons in life. she is my perfectly best teacher! i am looking forward to more years of learning from her :))

marriage is not a bed of roses

i always have an idealistic perception of marriage, the fluffy wedding dresses, fairytales and happily-ever-afters.

i still do.

take heart in knowing

the girl at 48 weeks and 5 days is now like a lemon tart - a mix of both the sweet and sour. it's always nice to sweeten up a day with a good lemon curd, or a lemon meringue pie or a lemon cake topped with creamy cream cheese frosting. she is walking well, recognising words and objects, very friendly and of course, super duper naughty :)

i love it when i wake up in the morning and the world just somehow feels different, quiet and beautifully peaceful. i'm excited actually. i'm excited to be spending much time with the girl in my comfort zone. i'm excited to be doing things routinely. i'm excited to have the girl walking up to me with her favourite book. i really am. because i know that i will never be happy if my life is filled only with work and mediocre, and if i have to live my life twisting over to accomodate the whims and fancies of others. i will make this good for myself, because there's just no other way. no one's going to make me truly happy, but me myself.

let me live in this moment, let me live every moment for what it's worth.
