a tiring friday

Last night, there is a guest in my house! Not a person but a rabbit! His name is Chocolate Chips & it belongs to Liyi. Liyi is away in NYC, Canada & Washington for 9 days. Thus her rabbit has to bunk here for the next 9 days! =) Chocolate chips seems very quiet & passive, hmmm..maybe she is missing her owner?

Our day starts as early as 9am today. Was supposed to meet Geico agent to collect the cheque and to clear the stuff from our old car at 11am, however we were late by about 1 hour! So paiseh! All because Darling and I lazed in bed till 9.30am. Haha! Throughout the whole day, darling and i were very tired. We slept less than 5 hours and we kept yawning. Haha! Last time in singapore, i was always irritated when i saw darling yawns. I will feel that he is bored being with me. So darling came up with a penalty of yawning. Whoever yawns will give the other party a kiss, haha! So if he yawns 10 times, he will kiss me 10 times! Hehehe..

We had our breakfast cum lunch before we go out. We had the leftover sweet & sour pork, pan fried raddish cake (the kueh from the chai tow kway) & winter melon soup. Made the winter melon soup last night, so this morning just have to heat it up. Simple and easy.

After lunch, we went Service King in the rental car. Darling got his cheque & was given a benefit to have the car till next tuesday! Thats the good thing about Geico. They are fast and efficient and very customer-orientated, Darling will be changing our car insurance to Geico. They are slightly more expensive but they indeed are worth the price.

Darling and i took turns to have picture with our old car. Kinda can't bear to part with it as i used this car in my exam here & had been driving it since. Darling owned this car in his first trip as well! We cleared all the stuff and bidded it farewell :(

After that Darling & I went to BX to buy disney tickets. Hooray! They are open and we got our Disneyworld Orlando tickets! Being a military staff, darling got the ticket free! I got the park hopper ticket at a military's special rate of $124. It was super amazing as the normal price per ticket is around US$300!!! We too got Legoland California @ $37.50 each & Universal Hollywood @ $51 each. They are actually around half price off the normal price. This is one of the many benefits in USA for their miltary staff.

As for disneyland california, darling & i decided to buy them from ebay. Disneyland Ca is also offering free ticket for military staff, however this promotion will end on 30th September 2009. Darling & I went for a drink and snack at A&W there. We also shopped at the supermarket. Bought alot of stuff from the supermarket such as chicken breast meat, yogurt, milk, St Ives body wash, Kellogg's fibre bar, etc. Since buying things from BX are all tax free, the things from the supermaket after coupons only cost me $30.

We went car hunting after that. But none suit us. Either they are too expensive or too old. Darling has been wanting to buy back a good Honda Accord but seems like they are way out of our budget :(

Darling forgot to put on his ring so i insisted that we go home first before heading to VIP buffet for the farewell dinner. Darling will only wear his ring during the weekends because he is not allowed to put on any jewellery while working. We stopped by TNL and a goodwill shop as they are along the way. In TNL, we spotted a dead lobster for sale at $4.99/lb. So cheap! Only cost me $5.79! I also bought soba @ a sale price of $1.39 only. Hehehe, so tomorrow's dinner will be lobster soba soup! =) Went to goodwill shop but darling could not find any good stuff.

While driving home, the sky suddenly turned very dark. Luckily it started to pour only after darling & i got home. Darling went to put on his ring while i pue all the stuff back into the fridge and cabinets. We left only when the rain got slightly lighter.

Darling is now waiting for me on bed. Haha, he had been waiting for me on the sofa since 11pm i supposed. But i told him i wanna finish writing my blog post before going to dreamland with him, oops! Tomorrow we shall sleep as late as we want! Finally...!

a coming long weekend :)))

Darling & i slept at about 4am last night and woke up at 11am this morning. I quickly prepared my Emperor Herbal Chicken as this dish needs 2 hours of steaming. I don't like to prepare any herbal food or soup during summer. These category of food tend to be more heaty. However darling likes this dish and he had been persuading me to make it since a few months ago.

I also took a picture of the amount of rice i eat everyday. Hehehe, darling always ask me, "are you a bird?" Hahaha, its just my habit since the lost weight days. Whoever comes my house to eat always was shocked to see me eating so little. My parents always say that they can count the number of rice grain i eat, haha! =P

I made papaya snow fungus dessert last night. I remember in singapore, darling always fetch me from work and sometimes we would walk from raffles place to a dessert place in chinatown, 记得吃. Darling always order their double-boiled papaya snow fungus dessert. The irony thing is that darling does not fancy hawaiian papaya but yet he likes this dessert! I will be making tau suan & bobo chacha next week. Wish me lucks! =D

At around 12pm, Darling went off to Goodwill shops while i stayed at home to watch over the fire. I was on MSN when i met my good friend, Yanfen. I'm glad that she is doing well in her love life now. Earlier on, i did hear her unhappiness with her boyfriend. However, they managed to talk things out and now they are working it out! I am so happy for her. Well in every relationship, there bounds to be quarrels and disagreement. However, i still believe that love will find its way.

When you feel like giving up, just remember all the reasons why you held on to begin with.

After lunch, darling and i went to sleep. However our nap was interrupted by many phone calls & UPS. Darling and i got kinda fed up and we woke up. My order from AE is finally here. However, darling seems to grow bigger in size, haha! He will have to exchange his t-shirts for 1 size bigger. I love my nightie! I think its nice and SEXY! Hahaha!

Darling broke a bad news to me today. He will have to be away from 10th Nov till 20th Nov =( I'm able to celebrate my wedding anniversary with him but i will be alone on my birthday *signing*. But well, what to do right? I'm sure darling is also very upset about it. However i know darling will compensate me! :)))

Darling and i has decided to postpone/cancel our plan to buy a new car. We will save the cash from the total loss and just continue to drive the old red car. But if anytime we spot a cheap and good one, why not right? Tomorrow, we will go to Service King to clear all the stuff in our green car, go car-hunting, JRB to get disney's tickets & maybe to Fort Worth Zoo if time allows.

The sky is rather dark now. It is forcasted to rain tonight and the next coming week. Woohoo...finally it rains & the temperature for the next coming few days are only in the 20s! It has been rather hot these few days. I hope this rain will chase the hot air away. I too hope darling will be able to come home earlier tonight due to this rain.

These few days, i had been snapping pictures with darling. I hope to take as many photos as possible! I don't care if i am in pyjamas or home clothing or even makeup-less, i just want to capture every moment of my life with darling now! Well, life is young once and if i do not take pictures now, then when???

to buy or not to buy?

Last night darling came home at 4+am and we slept at 5am. This morning woke up at 9am *yawning*. Darling had to fetch bingbing to Japanese Auto to get her car and also he needed to go to Service King. A Chrysler PT Cruiser was issued to darling.

While darling is away, i prepared our lunch. Today's lunch is sweet and sour pork, sambal sweet potato shoots & lotus root soup. I only paid $1.43 for 7 pieces of pork chop, while my tomatoes & potatoes are sponsored by bingbing! Darling had already set up my deep fryer in balcony before he left. It was my darling's brillant idea! This way, our kitchen will not be so oily and also the house will be free of oily smell. I deep fried the pork chops & potatoes. The pork chop was tenderised & marinated last night already. So this morning, i only need to dip the pork chop into flour, egg & hup seng crackers. I like to use hup seng butter cracker to coat pork chop before deep frying. This way, the meat will come out very nice & crunchy! Actually i wanna prepare lunch all by myself today. However darling reached home before i could do anything. So in the end, he is again the chef cum washer of the day while i am only the photographer! =)

Darling's body so long and slim...so envyAs usual, our lunch is awesome! Darling don't understand why girls enjoy sweet and sour pork so much. Hahaha, i guess its just a girl's taste. After putting aside some for darling & bingbing's dinner, there is still leftover sweet & sour pork. I decided to keep it in the fridge and have it on friday for lunch. Haha! Save another meal from eating out! =)

After lunch, it was only about 1pm. Darling & i went for a nap as we were still tired. At about 4pm, darling received a call from the insurance company. They declare darling's green car a total loss. They offered him US$2,700. Darling was fine with it as he bought the car for only S$2,800. In the meanwhile, darling was asked to keep the rental car till next monday. Luckily on hand, we have another car. A very very very very...old red Mitsubishi Lancer. After hearing this, darling could not return back to dreamland anymore, haha! He quickly went to surf the internet to look for any second hand car.

Darling even brought Smartie out to surf internet =PI discussed with darling that actually he need not buy a car for me & he can continue to drive his old red car. I am fine without a car of my own. If ever i need to use the car, he could car pool with his colleagues. In this way, we are able to keep the $2,700 & save on insurance as well as petrol. Darling also suggested buying a better car, using the $2,700 and the trade-in of his old red car. The old red car has been giving darling problems recently. It will tend to stalled at times. However its not worth to repair it as darling only bought it for $1,100. If we buy a better car, we could use this car for all the holiday road trips. We will be able to save from car rental. Somemore, this old red car might not be able to run long distances. Darling suggested to go look for car dealers during this coming weekend.Well, i shall leave the decision to darling. =)

Darling and i was hungry when we woke up from our nap. I prepared some snacks and a cup of milo for darling.

Yingjie called to offer to drive darling to work today. As yingjie lives near the gym, darling and i walked hand-in-hand to the leasing office area.I jogged for 30mins and was almost breathless! Not because i am lacking of stamina (haha!) but because the air-con wasn't on. The air circulation was rather bad. It was damn suffocating, especially when you could smell funny things...like farts? Haha!

Tomorrow lunch will be steamed Emperor Herbal chicken with wolfberries, deep fried soft tofu (one of my favourite!) & stir fry vegetable with garlic. This week passes very fast. Perhaps is because mon is a public holiday and darling does not have to work on this coming fri too. So happy that its another long weekend! =D

long weekend passes so fast :(

Darling came back with bingbing at around 1.30pm. Bingbing left her car at Japanese Auto. In regards to darling's car, the guy honestly told him that if the car is still in a working condition, better not waste the money to repair it. Because the car which darling is driving is indeed a very old car.

As bingbing coming for lunch is a last minute decision, i did not have the time to prepare more food. In the end, bingbing bought 10 pieces of churches chicken, 1 large coleslaw, 1 large whipped potato & 4 biscuits to add to our lunch =) I did not cook rice for lunch as my plan with darling was to have hokkien mee (still have leftover noodle and ingredients from last night) with roast pork belly & char siew. Luckily, the food was more than enough and bingbing had to bring back those leftover chicken and biscuits.

Bingbing was so hungry that she finished all her food on her plate! I did not eat much of the churches chicken as they are kinda oily. Darling took away the skin and flour and gave me some of the breast meat, hehehe. Darling knows me best! =D After lunch, i cooked some rice for darling's dinner. Tonight, darling & bingbing's dinner will be char siew + roasted pork belly + oyster sauce vegetables rice.

Around 3pm, bingbing went home and darling went to settle his car accident thingy. Everything is settled now. The other driver had admitted her fault. Tomorrow, darling has to drive to Service King to repair his car and they will also give him a replacement car. Glad everything is settled so easily and smooth.

Darling and i napped till about 5pm before he woke up to get ready for work. I too got ready my jogging attire. Not been jogging for 1+ week, kinda scared that my stamina will go down :((( After we got changed, i am again in my snapping mode. Hahaha! Luckily darling was sporting enough to get crazy with me! :)))

Darling went to pick bingbing up and also drove me to the gym. I jogged for 30mins and i perspired alot! Seems 3kg is down, haha! Well, its exaggerating but i really felt good after that! Will need to hit the gym tomorrow and thurs as well! I had been lazing around too much. Earlier this year when the weather is much cooler, i jogged everyday. Now, i only jog about 3 times or lesser a week *signing*.

an unlucky morning for bingbing

Darling and i slept at about 12.30am last night. We were both very tired. Could hear darling's snore the moment the light was off, haha! I too fell asleep very fast. Both of us slept throughout the night soundly.

Darling woke up at 10am this morning to go to Japanese Auto with Bingbing. Bingbing's car died on her last night while she was driving home from our house after dinner. It is quite a serious problem because bingbing just changed her car battery to a new one on saturday. Darling went over to jam start for her this morning. However darling just called and said that Bingbing's car died down again along the way to Japanese Auto. Now they are waiting for the tow truck to take her car away. After that, then they will go to Japanese Auto. Darling also need Japanese Auto to check his red car which also had been giving him problems. Thus, darling estimated that he will only be home after 2pm. That means he will not be home on time for lunch.

Normally when darling is in afternoon shift, he will be the chef while i am just assisting him. However today's lunch is rather simple and i can do everything myself. Will just need to put the pork belly into the oven for about 1 hour and heat the char siew meat with the marination sauce and allow it to cook till the meat turns dry. I will also just boil some vegetable and pour oyster sauce over it. Last week when i cooked the pork knuckles, darling told me his colleagues love it and amazed by how well i cooked this dish! Hehehe, they even wanna asked me for the recipe =D

There will be a farewell dinner this friday in VIP buffet for those people who are going back singapore in november. Darling will be asking for his guard duty day off on this day. We will go BX to get the disney's tickets as well as fort worth zoo, yippy!

hope everyday is a holiday

Today's lunch is simple and good. I waited for darling to come back from golfing and cook, haha! I made the porridge and darling cooked the rest of the stuff.

The carrot cake indeed turned out delicious! One thumb up! =)

After lunch, darling and i took a bath and we napped till about 5pm. Then we went off to Grapevine and Galleria. In Grapevine, i got my sis F21 jumper. In Galleria, darling & i finally bought our couple polo too! They are from American Eagle. We shared the same fitting room and took a few photos with it! Haha!

I went to Abercrombie & Fitch wanting to get t-shirts for my second sis, however those on sale are not very attractive and those which are not on sale are way too expensive. Instead I bought myself a clearance short shorts @ $12.90 from Abercrombie. The size i got was the one and only size 8 but still a tad too big. However size 8 is the smallest. No choice, and guess i will just wear a belt with it. I als got a coupon to get a free travel kit (worth $25) from victoria's secret with any pink purchase. Thus i chose the cheapest, pink lollipop. It is $1.50 each. I just wanna get one however darling is too paiseh again. He asked me to get 2 lollipops instead. All right since its only $3 total. So happy that within 2.5hrs, we bought so many things. A sense of achievement.

We came home at 7.30pm and darling started to cook his hokkien mee. I also made another bowl of mango sago dessert. Bingbing came over at 8pm. She brought us a box of liquor chocolates, 2 egg tarts & a big bowl of watermelon. Oh, i love egg tarts but guess darling & i will not eat them for these 2 days. Too much eggs in our diet now, haha!

Darling felt that his hokkien mee lacked of some taste and bingbing concluded that its the taste of pork lard. YUCKS!!! Pork lard! OMG, that will add thousands of calories to my diet! No way! But darling explained that without pork lard, his hokkien mee will not taste as good as outside. Nevertheless, the 3 of us still finished what we have on our plate. After the hokkien mee, darling went to fry a plate of chai tow kway to share. Bingbing laughed at him saying that our house its like a hawker center, haha!

I also brought out my mango sago. Bingbing requested for a second serving of my mango sago dessert, really makes my day =)

After dinner, darling marinated char siew for tomorrow lunch. This marination is his own secret recipe, hahaha! Its his own creation and was praised by many people who ate them before! Tomorrow lunch will be roast pork belly, char siew rice! Easy and good!

Darling also brought out his liquor (Martell VSOP) to drink. One mouth of chocolate, one mouth of VSOP. They really know how to enjoy life, haha! I can't drink, thus i only enjoyed the chocolate. It is still very heavenly.

an early morning

Darling went off for a golf session this morning. Last time i used to force darling to put on his face moisturiser, eye cream and sunscreen for body before leaving the house. Nowadays darling seems to be very automatic, haha! The brand which darling is using is Clinique Mens! I bought them for him while i was purchasing mine and they are not cheap! Wanting my darling to look good comes with a price, haha!

I had a terrible migraine last night due to the hot weather. I took a painkiller. Darling also gave me a body & head massage and was trying hard to make me laugh as though i am his little baby girl! =) Well, indeed i am! I slept very well throughout the night, however i still can feel the after effect of the pain in my head this morning. Seems like its abit numb. Guess i better leave my jog till tomorrow.

I will be making lunch later before going to Grapevine. Will need to get a F21 jumper and some A&F tees for my second sister. She requested to have them by air freight. Haha, rich woman ya! =)

Yesterday, darling & i did not spend a single cent outside on eating. That is great! I kept a spreadsheet keeping track of the expenses every month. After darling & i started to keep at home for dinner during weekends, we felt that we spent lesser. In USA, eating out is not cheap afterall. Nowadays, i been trying to cook for lunch on weekends as well. Well we will still eat out, probably once a week i guess. My lunch later will be sweet potato porridge, cai tow kway, leftover char kway tiao from last night & a small tin of vegetarian abalone. Tonight bingbing will be coming over for dinner and darling will cook hokkien mee! Yum yum! I feel so lucky to have a husband who can cook & wash! Just like my dad.

We decided!

Today, darling and i woke up at around 10am. I prepared breakfast tuna sandwich with coffee. The tuna sandwich turned out good, just except that the bread is kinda hard. Got the free bread from Super target. I stored it in my freezer and took out to toast it today.

At around 12pm, darling and i went to BX to get disney's tickets. However it was closed. Its only open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. So we went to walk around JRB and also the supermarket. Bought my Clinique makeup remover, Clinique spf25 face protector, Estee Lauder face cleanser and a Hugo Boss perfume for darling. Total spent about $80 here.

After that we went to the supermarket and got quite a few things such as chicken wings, pasta, milk, honey, yogurt, TGIF bufflo wings etc. As it is tax-free and plus my coupons, we spent only about $30. Not expensive considering the number of things we got.

After that darling and i wanna go home to put our stuff before we continued our trip to yuemei. Along the way, darling was approaching a turn when suddenly we heard a long bang! The car behind had crashed onto our car! The driver came down apologising that she wasn't looking in front. Darling and i was instead worried if she was hurt! Darling and the driver exchanged details and she said she will call her insurance company and let them handle this accident. Our car wasn't hit that bad, the other car was worse. However since it was her fault, she will still bear the whole responsibility.

After we reached home and put all the stuff, we went to yuemei to get our weekly food supplies. Bought some pork, vegetables, shrimps, sweet potato, lotus root and a small papaya for my white fungus dessert. Total we spent about $20 there.

Darling cooked char kway tiao tonight. It was good! This char kway tiao was his own creation. I tend to follow recipe closely whereas darling tend to modify it. We did not use the kind of long flat noodle, instead we used the kueh for kueh chap. Too bad, this char kway tiao wasn't spicy, else i might enjoy it more! =) As darling was the chef today, i was only busy taking photos of him, haha!

We also make our own chai tau kway today. We only made the kueh and we will fry it tomorrow for lunch. This time, our kueh came our good!!! It is not as wet and soft as last time. I am sure tomorrow's carrot cake will turn out good too. I also did my mango sago dessert. It is goooooooood!!!!! I added some grapefruit pulp to it as i could not find pomalo here.

My sis msn me that her baby is gone =( She had slight spotting and suddenly last week, she came alot of blood and very bad cramp. I feel so sad for her although she appeared to be okie. She said she can sense my parents' disappointment. She told me my mum just sms her tips for conceiving a baby! Hahaha! One of the tip is to have sex after menses....
Anyway regardless of what, i still wish for her to be healthy! =)

Darling is hungry now after his dinner. Hahaha! He is now eating 6 TGIF Bufflo wings and 1 Johnsonville sausage. So envy right? Can forever eat without getting fat!

Today, darling and i discussed again about having a baby. We talked about plans and future. We also talked about our feelings and thoughts. And we decided.

a happy saturday!!!

MY STOMACH GONNA BURST!!! Darling had cooked a very nice dinner - Seafood pasta!! It was his own creation using butter, olive oil, white wine, lots of garlic, mussels, clams, smoked salmon & mushroom! My all-time favourite as well! It was indeed delicious!! =)We had went to TNL to buy the a box of mussels (on sale at $3.49/box), a big sliced of smoked salmon (on sale @ $5.99/lb) & mushroom.

This morning darling and i woke up at around 10am and we started to get ready. We wanna go to have a dimsum buffet at Richardson but too bad, the restaurant is already closed down for business. In the end, we went xiao-mei. Xiao-mei is a taiwanese restaurant. It sells all kind of taiwanese food such as 豬排飯, 魯肉飯, 珍珠奶茶, 肉圓, 臭豆腐 etc. Cheap and good! Darling ordered shimp fish noodle which taste like singapore's lor mee. I ordered "wah kueh". Both cost us only $8! Their serving is big! And the soya bean drink, tea & soup are free flow. Darling and i always like to order and share their 豬排飯 (famous) but today we don't feel like eating rice.

After lunch, we drove to Allen. Allen was not considered crowded at the time when we reached. When we went to Kenneth Cole, i found a pair of boots (additional 50% discount on top of sale price) which i like!! Its a brown platform leather boots. However i was hesitating. Because i am going back singapore next year and its not like i am going to wear them in singapore! I kept thinking about it although we left the boutique. Darling bought 2 Ashworth golf polo tees @ only about $20 (BOGO and additional 20% off). I was hungry after that. We went to the foodcourt there to eat Italia Express. I like italia express! Darling and i always go there to eat whenever we are in Allen. Due to military discount, 1 big slice of pizza, 1 big bowl of salad and i drink cost only $5.99. I was still considering about the pair of boots while we were eating. And i decided! I will buy it! Because i am going back to singapore next year, thats why i should buy it! I maybe will never have another chance to wear boots! This may be my one and only chance! Right?! I had already one boots at home. Bought it during last Nov but i am craving for a leather boots this time! After the meal, darling and i went back to Kenneth Cole and i bought my boots at $35. Hehehe, not expensive actually considering it is leather. I am so excited when i think about wearing this boots! I wanna bring this boots to Disneyworld in dec!!! Since Darling will be driving all the way to Florida, why not? Haha!! I walked around the house with it and kept on taking pictures of myself! So crazy right? =P


A pair of cuite boots which i already owned =))After Allen, we headed on to Grapevine. My second sister ask me to help her look for jumper. I was thinking of F21. I did not buy it cos i also dunno if she will like it. I decided to post some photos for her to see first before deciding. Darling and i also walked one round in Grapevine. I was looking for couple polo tee actually. I wanna darling and me same design of polo tee. Found it at American eagle but there is no size M for darling. I had been wanting to get this before we came USA. Never mind, i shall look around more. I hope to get it before our holiday in dec! We bought 3 t-shirts in Old Navy. 2 for darling and 1 for me. They are very cheap! $5 each only!! After Grapevine, we drove to TNL to get the ingredients for our pasta dinner.

Nevertheless, i thoroughly enjoyed myself today. Not because i bought something i like. I am happy because i am with somebody i love. When we were driving on the way to TNL, darling placed his big hands on mine and said, "I am happy because you are with me." After that he hold my hands and kiss them "MUACK!!!"

Time to talk to my mummy & pa! And a bubblebath bath (bubblebath tomorrow) later!! =)
